NOLA Gold forward Ignacio “Nacho” Dotti Uria made the Major League Rugby’s First XV roster for his hard-nosed play in the Gold’s 26-14 win over Austin in Week 15.
The Uruguayan lock/flanker played a full 80 minutes and finished the game with seven carries for 72 meters (third on the team), a tackle break, an offload and added a try on offense.
Dotti scored in the 31st minute after taking an offload from Nick Feakes along the goal line, helping the Gold go up 12-0.
On defense, Dotti led the Gold with a team-high 12 tackles, including two dominant tackles and also took two lineouts in the set-piece.
Dotti also earned Man of the Match honors after the game and this is the first time Dotti has made the MLR’s First XV roster this season.
Dotti and the No. 1 Gold (9-3, 50 points) return home against the No. 2 San Diego Legion (9-3-1, 47 points) this Saturday, May 11 at 2:00 p.m. (CT).
