Pat O’Toole is a hooker from Louisburgh, Ireland. He’s been with the Gold since 2021, but was drafted to the San Diego Legion in 2018 and played with the Houston SaberCats in 2019. In 2020, due to COVID, he returned to Ireland and played with Garryowen in the All-Ireland league in 2020. He graduated from NUI in Galway with a degree in Energy Systems Engineering; he also studied at Sancta Maria College in Louisburgh. To get his early career up and running, he went through the Connacht Rugby Academy. Before this, though, he started playing rugby for Westport RFC at age 6 since his school did not provide rugby. Additionally, O’Toole was chosen for the USA Rugby Selects in the 2018 Americas Pacific Challenge.
