JP du Plessis is a midfielder from Stellenbosch, South Africa. He played 1066 minutes in 16 matches with the Gold in 2022, having started 15, in which he scored 2 tries. Before the Gold, JP attended Reitz School where he began playing before switching to Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch from 2007-09, majoring in Business/Commerce. From there, he played with Western Province Academy, Super Rugby Melbourne Rebels, Western Province, Super Rugby Stormers, Montpellier, Free State Cheetahs, Eastern Province Kings, and the Southern Kings. He was a core member of the San Diego Legion’s 2018 and 2019 campaigns that ended in the semifinals and finals, respectively.
