Cory Brown Announced as the New Head Coach of Nola Gold Rugby.

Nola Gold Rugby proudly introduces Cory Brown as their new head coach. Brown has an extensive rugby background in both playing and coaching.

With a successful playing career that included stints with Otago, the Highlanders Development Team, and various clubs in France and Italy, Brown transitioned seamlessly into coaching following his retirement from professional rugby.

Brown’s esteemed coaching career began with a pivotal role as the Head Coach for Otago Rugby in the NPC, where he was also responsible for growth of rugby at the grassroots level. His vision and leadership significantly contributed to the advancement and development of rugby within the region.

As the assistant coach for the New Zealand Under 20, Brown celebrated a monumental victory as the team clinched the World Rugby Under 20 Championship in 2017.

Brown has coached in Super Rugby, coaching both the Highlanders and the Sunwolves, demonstrating his adeptness at the elite level of the sport.

From 2018 to 2021, Brown served as the head coach of the Munakata Sanix in Japan’s Top League, where he coached current NOLA Gold player Jarred Adams.

Brown played an instrumental role in leading the Georgia National Team to their historic victories over Italy and Wales. These victories mark the first time Georgia has beaten the two tier one nations.

Brown most recently contributed his expertise to the Georgia National Team during the Rugby World Cup, a significant milestone in his coaching journey. Now, he eagerly prepares to bring his wealth of experience and strategic insight to the Big Easy.

Brown expressed his enthusiasm for the new role, stating, “I am thrilled and excited to join NOLA Gold Rugby as Head coach. I am looking forward to meeting everyone in the organization, the supporters, and eager to contribute to the team’s growth and success. I am confident that, together with the dedicated staff and talented players, we can achieve great things and make the upcoming season a memorable one for NOLA Gold.”

Nola Gold Rugby is excited to have Cory Brown on board and eagerly anticipates the impact of his leadership as the team gears up for an exciting and promising 2024 season.
