Hubert Buydens

Oldest player on NOLA Gold roster (five days older than Kane Thompson). Coaches consider him a veteran leader and very good scrummager. Has 50 career caps, including 40 starts, for Canada. Played for Canada in 2011 and 2015 Rugby World Cup and expected to make third appearance later this year. Will play for Canada in 2019 Americas Rugby Championship (ARC). Made test debut on June 10, 2006, vs England A. Played football collegiately for University of Saskatchewan and was sixth-round draft choice of B.C. Lions of Canadian Football League in 2008, but chose to concentrate on rugby.
