Devin Short is a loose forward from Las Vegas, Nevada. He was the Gold’s Forward of the Year in 2021. Short has a multi-sport background that demonstrates his pure athleticism. In high school, he played football, track, wrestling, volleyball, and, in his senior year, rugby. Though he had little experience in the sport, Short helped lead his team to a Nevada high school state rugby title. He then went through the Eagle Impact Rugby Academy and played for the SoCal team, which led to a selection for the USA Rugby Under-18s high school All-American team. He participated in the “Next Olympic Hopeful” project in the U.S. Olympic Training Center and won, which granted him a three-month training opportunity with the USA Rugby Sevens program. Finally, he was selected for the USA Falcons South American Tour to the Punta del Este sevens and the Viña del Mar sevens.
