Week 19: Bursic and Blewett make First XV roster
Nikola Bursic and Tristan Blewett made the Major League Rugby’s First XV roster for their solid play in their 22-10 loss to the San Diego Legion on Sunday.
In the minute, Nick Feakes scooped a loose ball and took it the opposite way into Legion territory. The next phase, a quick ball found Bursic who ran on with a head of steam and barreled over a few defenders on his way for the score that put the game at
The versatile flanker/lock finished with 13 carries (third on the team) for 83 meters and a try, with a line break, a tackle break and an offload on offense. On defense, the Chilean had a 100% tackle completion rate on eight hits (second on the team) in 76 minutes.
This is the second time Bursic has made the MLR’s First XV roster this season (once at #4 and once at #6).

Blewett once again found himself around the ball early and often.
The South African center led the team with 151 meters on 14 carries (second on the team) and added two line breaks and three tackle breaks and an offload during his strong running. On defense, Blewett tied Bursic with eight tackles on the day to cap off his full-80 minute performance.
This is the seventh time that Blewett has made the MLR’s First XV roster this year (six times at #13 and once at #14).
