Captain Eric Howard was awarded Week 10 ‘First XV’ honors for his exceptional play against the Glendale Raptors last weekend.
The hooker finished with a game-high two tries, with six carries for 27 meters. He was also third on the team with 16 tackles in the contest.
Howard’s first score was a part of a three-try flurry in the first half.
The captain got in the try zone in the 29th minute after battling on Glendale’s doorstep and his score helped cut the Raptors lead from to 17-7 to 17-14.

With the Gold down 31-26 with under five minutes remaining, Howard fed the ball in off of their line-out on the 22-meter line and the Gold quickly formed a maul.
Howard secured the ball at the back of the maul as the Gold drove all the way down and past the Raptors’ try line as Howard scored his second try of the game.
