NOLA Gold Rugby is announcing a new partnership with the Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine. The Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine will be working closely with NOLA Gold’s team on both injury prevention and injury treatment.
“Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine is proud to be the official medical provider of the NOLA Gold,” said Ben Hughes, vice president of orthopedics and surgery for Tulane Health System. “Rugby is a very physically demanding sport and our goal is to help keep these incredible athletes healthy, strong and in game-winning shape. However, if injury should occur, our team of trainers, physicians and physical therapists will get them back to the pitch as quickly as possible.
Owner Tim Falcon stressed how important this partnership is for the team.
“To partner with the Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine is a huge boost for our team,” Falcon said. “Helping our players stay healthy and getting them back to that should an injury occur is vital for our success as a rugby team, and we couldn’t ask for a better partner than the Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine in that regard.”
General Manager Ryan Fitzgerald said working with the Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine will be a big boon for the organization.
“From our entire staff down to every player on our roster, we couldn’t be more excited to be working together with the Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine,” Fitzgerald said. “They embody professionalism in every since of the word and they understand what we are building here with NOLA Gold Rugby.
The Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine will be working hand-in-hand with NOLA Gold Rugby throughout the entire 2020 Major League Rugby season.
“Our mission is to provide world-class patient care, and we’re excited to work with the world-class athletes of the NOLA Gold,” Hughes said.
