NOLA Gold to Celebrate International Day Presented by Helm Paint on Sunday, April 30
NOLA Gold will celebrate International Day on April 30th for its fixture against the Toronto Arrows at the Shrine on Airline. Festivities will include soccer and rugby matches, a variety of live music, and iconic city jerseys by local artist Becky Fos. The occasion is presented by Helm Paint in partnership with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Telemundo, and the Jazz Museum of New Orleans. You won’t want to miss this! Three fixtures, two sports, and one pitch: that’s the plan. To start the day, The Gold Mine will play host to Ceiba FC and Rivera FC for a curtain raiser soccer match. After the two clubs demonstrate their class on grass, the Gold and Arrows will take the field for a critical Eastern Conference clash. To wrap up a full slate of action, Jesuit and Brother Martin high schools will play the Louisiana State Rugby Championship. The Shrine on Airline will be a sports fan’s paradise on April 30th!
To accompany these riveting contests, La Tran-K and a roaming brass band from the Jazz Museum of New Orleans will provide the day’s music. The significance of such sonic sensations can’t be overstated; from start to finish, International Day at the Gold Mine will be a hotspot for smooth moves and infectious grooves.
The cherry on top of Sunday, April 30th, is Becky Fos’ custom-designed NOLA Gold City Jerseys. A visual medley of New Orleans spirit and culture, the jerseys feature elements of Foss’ painting Golden Girl, including a cheeky alligator imbued with pastel tones. These jerseys are available for auction until halftime of the game against the Arrows; winners will be able to take home their jersey directly from the game. With a wide variety of entertainment on offer, International Day has a niche for everyone. Be sure to check it out at the Shrine on Airline on April 30th.
